HOT BROCCOLI BEEF
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup water, divided
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1. In large skillet, heat oil.
    2. Stir-fry beef strips until just browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
    3. In same skillet, add broccoli, 1/4 cup water, red pepper flakes and garlic powder.
    4. Cover and cook over medium heat 5 minutes.
    5. In small bowl, combine rmaining water, ketchup, soy sauce, cornstarch and ginger.
    6. Return meat to skillet.
    7. Pour sauce over and bring to a boil.
    8. Cook until sauce thickens and glaze develops.
